NewsCut ("we", "our", "us") operates news.hapliq.com and provides short-form news summaries. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
2. Information we collect
When you visit NewsCut, we may collect: (a) basic usage data such as pages viewed, language preference, and device/browser type; (b) anonymous analytics to understand traffic patterns; and (c) any information you voluntarily provide (for example, if you contact us by email).
3. How we use information
We use information to operate and improve NewsCut, deliver content in your preferred language, monitor performance and security, and respond to messages you send us. We do not sell your personal data.
4. Cookies & local storage
We use a small number of cookies and local-storage entries — for example, to remember your language choice. You can clear these at any time from your browser settings.
5. Third-party services
NewsCut is hosted on Vercel and routed via Cloudflare. These providers process basic request data (such as IP address) as part of delivering the site. If we add analytics or other services later, we will update this policy.
6. Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we hold about you. See the "Data Deletion" section below for how to make a request.
7. Children
NewsCut is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

Terms of Service
1. Acceptance
By using NewsCut, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. The service
NewsCut provides short-form summaries of publicly reported news. Summaries are produced for general information only and are not a substitute for full source reporting. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service — including by attempting to disrupt it, scrape content at scale, reverse-engineer it, or use it to break any law.
4. Content & accuracy
We work hard to summarize accurately, but news evolves and human or automated errors can happen. NewsCut is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Always consult original sources for critical decisions.
5. Intellectual property
The NewsCut name, design, and original written summaries are owned by us. References to source publications remain the property of their respective owners.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NewsCut and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
7. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of NewsCut after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Data Deletion
Request the deletion of your data
You have the right to request deletion of any personal data NewsCut holds about you. We honor verified requests within 30 days.
How to request
Send an email to newscut@hapliq.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include:
- The email address or identifier associated with your data
- A short description of what you want deleted (e.g. "all data")
- Any context that helps us verify the request is yours
What happens next
We will confirm receipt within 3 business days, verify your identity, and then permanently delete your data from our active systems. Backups containing the data are cycled out within 90 days. Anonymous, aggregated analytics that cannot be tied back to you may be retained.
